Thrice is nice for Teixeira

Mark Teixeira, welcome back.

Just as fantasy owners were about ready to issue a Missing Person's Report in regards to the slugger's underperforming power, Teixeira launches three home runs Sunday, driving in four.

It was just the fifth time a player has hit three jacks in Turner Field history, most recently Alfonso Soriano pulled off the hat trick last season.

And just like that, Tex goes from a disappointing 10 HR thus far, to a serviceable 13. The Braves 1B also raised his average to .271 and pushed his RBI total to 55, which ties him for 13th place in all the majors with Ryan Braun, just 1 RBI behind Ryan Ludwick and David Wright.

But for seasoned fantasy players, a slow Teixeira start is par for the course. In 2004, he started so slow, he was booted to the waiver wire curb in the Observer league, before eventually hitting 38 HR that year.

For whatever reason, Tex is just one of those slow-starters, a rare breed whose career home run totals increase every month as the season wears on.

There's still a small window of opportunity to grab him below face value. But it's closing fast and if you're not careful, your finger might get caught.

Look for another mid-to-high 30s and 120 RBI for Tex so don't you dare sell low now.
