Ramirez caps off wild Wrigley day

Now this is interleague baseball.

Cubs-White Sox.

Aramis Ramirez with a walkoff home run in front of 41,106 mostly-rowdy, partly-drunken fans at Wrigley Field.

On a day when the wind was blowing out to center, it was a home run fest and a fantasy feast ... well, as much as a 4-3 game can be.

Hated catcher A.J. Pierzynski hit No. 5. Jermaine Dye and Derek Lee each hit their 15th jack. Both are keeping up their better-than-drafted numbers (sell high?).

But the day belonged to Ramirez, who just like most years has been largely disappointing going into the middle of June.

After a home run on Tuesday in Toronto, the Cubs suspiciously-trimmed down slugger now has a dozen dingers, 47 RBI and a .293 average.

Ramirez simply gets more comfortable at the plate the higher the sun. July and August historically are his best power months and June, July and August are his highest batting average periods.

Translation: The window is closing to get A-Ram at a discount. One more multi-HR game and you'll have to pay full price, i.e. 3rd/4th-round value.
